I have been trying for hours and am unable to get Red Hat 9 to install on
VPC 6.1.1. The first time I got to about 90% files copied and then had a
kernel panic. The second time I got to the final package (Mutt) and then
VPC stopped responding. Any ideas?

Responding to my own post... :-) the third time it finally worked so I
guess there wasn't any real reason for the problems the first two times.

You're probably having video configuration issues. Download tips
archived from Connectix forums on the subject here:

DON'T test the video during install and follow the specs for video,
they are the only ones that will work in VPC. You can't run full
screen in VPC with Linux, just 800x600 only.

Thanks for sending the link. I had misconfigured video and that was causing
problems.
