I run VPC 6.1 on an iMac 800 with MacOSX 10.2.8. I can connect VPC at
internet with my ADSL modem but I have problem when it's necessary to
dowload files from Microsoft Windows Update or other sites, it seems
that Internet Explorer don't find the server. But with a 56 K modem
it's running normaly.
Helps will be very gratefull.

I'm French . I presume you are also. If it's the case, I give you a
link in French for a topic about Virtual PC:

It reads like this could be a DNS issue. Are you sharing
the Mac's connection or how did you set the networking
settings or your Virtual Machine? Is it on "Shared
Networking" or "Virtual Switch"?

I experienced similar symptoms and the answer was to change the MTU
settings from 1500 to 1492 in the Windows registry. If you are using
PPPoE, this is a very frequent problem.
A description of the problem and some possible solutions are on this page:

You should change the MTU settings in Windows using the tool linked to on
the page - or directly in the registry if you're feeling lucky. On Mac OS
X 10.3 (Panther) you can go to the Network preference pane, go to the
built-in Ethernet section and click on the Ethernet tab. Then configure it
manually to 1492.
I hope this solves your problem. It worked great for me.
