good gawd i hope the final is better. windows open at a bearable rate ...but something is wrong when it takes 20 seconds to load the YAHOO home page on a DSL connection.... ???? Does anyone have an idea when the VPC7 for Mac is shipping out? From the Microsoft's Mactopia website, all I could get was "pre-order" links. Any help is appreciated. Hi Kausik, The most accurate information you can get about the release date is to ask your favorite vendor about it. Some postings here indicate that a vendor indicated delivery was expected this week sometime. Installed it on my Dual G5 2gig. List the processor as 533 Mhz with 512m of ram and 16m of video ram. Installed Visio 2000 and Office 2000 so far. No games yet. Visio worked as well as it does on my wifes new Dull laptop from her office. I can't out type MS Word. did'nt try Excel or Powerpoint. I am going to try autocad 2000 as soon as I can get a copy from work and will report how it seems to work. If you have to run Windows only software and have a G5. I would think this is an acceptable solution. Wild Bill So, you're either breaking your NDA and talking about the beta, or you've got it illegally. Beta software usually has debug code in it, and as such doesn't run as fast as it should.
