I had to replace my Mac's internal drive, and I cloned it onto a
replacement.

Now, however, when I run VPC, it takes me to the setup window (i.e., to
install the OS).

If I double-click on the "Windows XP Professional.vpc7" file in "Virtual
PC List" in my documents folder, I get the error
"No C disk is specified. Although you may still boot from a PC floppy,
it is recommended that you specify a C boot disk."

I cannot specify this .vpc7 file as the C drive, or otherwise continue.

Is the disk hosed? Must I erase it and reinstall?

Unfortunately, the answer to that question is 'Yes'. You will need to
trash the virtual machine and re-install XP
