I am running Virtual PC 7.0.3 with Windows XP and trying to print to the default Mac printer with the VPC printer addition.

The document gets sent to the print queue of the default printer (a networked Minolta color laser). However, the document status is always "stopped". Resuming the print job doesn't work. This happens also with a USB attached Epson Stylus. Printing from OS X is fine.

I have also tried connecting to the printer via the network. Windows sees the printer and sends the job but the output is just a solid black/brown page.

In Windows I can print to a PDF printer sub-system (CutePDF). I have the problem whether or not CutePDF is installed.

I have been able to print in the past. I recently added 2GB of RAM (total 4.5 GB). I can't imagine that would case the printing problem, but I haven't tried removing it...

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Follow the steps in this article:

Thanks for pointing me to the knowledgebase article.

Unfortunately that doesn't fix my problem. I have been able to print in the past. When I print from Virtual PC the job is sent to the Mac's print system, but the Mac won't print it.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

That's why I pointed you to the article. If you install the generic
print driver (Epson AP-3260) as shown in the article rather than using
the VM Additions driver, it WILL work where the VM Additions driver
will not.

Changing the drive to the Epson driver seems to have worked. I don't know why the previous settings which worked for years stopped working, but at least I can print from VPC now.

Same problem:
Virtual PC 7
E-MAC
VPC sees the Virtual machine, spools, then locks-up.

So,
I loaded the HP6940 print driver in Windows. VPC sees the 6940 when selected, spools, then locks-up.

I remembered to enable the USB port.

The printer acts normally on the Mac side.

Any ideas?
