I used to use VPC on my G3 running Mac OS 9.2. It was slow but it
worked. I haven't tried it in a year or 2 but now it hangs at start up
with the error message "now spooling the document "Virtual PC"" I have
updated to OS 9.2.2 in the meantime (I think) I can't find my OS 9
disks to do a fresh install. I reinstalled VPC but no change. Any
ideas?

"Spooling" sounds like something was being printed and then either you
quit or Virtual PC crashed before it finished, leaving a strange or
corrupted print document waiting in the queue. If you've bought a new
printer for the Mac, then Virtual PC may be throwing temper tantrums
about not being able to find the original printer.
Unfortunately I don't know how you're going to be able to delete the
Windows print queue when Virtual PC crashes. You might be able to turn
off Virtual PC's print connection preferences and then perhaps get an
error message instead, which might allow you to access the Windows
print jobs.
