Re-installing Windows XP with Virtual PC 6.1

I recently installed some software on my Virtual PC (Virtual PC 6.1
installed with Windows XP Professional. I am running it on a Mac G4
Powerbook under system 10.4.9.) Next time I started up the PC, I was
confronted with a screen offering to help me set up  Windows XP. I
went along for the ride, but when invited to enter the product key,I
had a problem. The first digit on my product key is 0 but it would not
register in the box provided. I also found that "5" also would not
register. All the other letters and digits were entered successfully.
There is nothing wrong with the keyboard that I can see. (All keys
work on the Mac platform.) I tried using the numberpad, cutting and
pasting and an external wireless keyboard but nothing works. I cannot
enter the product key!
Now the virtual computer won't boot at all and several important
programmes and documents are inaccessible.
Can anyone help????
Thanking you in advance,
jks

The Product key would certainly NOT start with a 0. In addition to 0
and 5 not working, you will also find that all vowels (a e i o u)
don't work either. You should call Microsoft PSS to have your Product
key validated.

Thank you, Paul. I do not understand how I could have recorded the
Product key wrongly, but personal error is easier to cope with than
gremlins or voodoo!  I could have misread a Q as 0, but Q does not
work either. (An S later in the queue also doesn't register!) I will
follow your advice and contact Microsoft support. Thank you again for
your speedy reply.

Correction, correction, correction to my last post!!! And
apologies!!!
The 0 was indeed a Q, and the S was a badly written 3!!! I am truly
sorry to waste your time on problems arising from my own inefficiency!
Shamefacedly!
