When reading the "Virtual PC for Mac Version 7" Guide, it says that it
will ask for my Windows Product key, but it does not, and I am not
sure why.  I followed instructions, but nothing comes up.  What do I
do?

It should ask at the beginning of a fresh Windows XP installation onto
your virtual machine. Are you saying that you're installing Windows XP
and able to complete the installation and use Windows without ever
having to enter a key?

If so, where did you get the CD? Is it an original or a burned copy? A
burned copy can contain the key.

Bill,

Not what I'm saying,   It says installing windows but I don't think it
is.  After install I get a blank black screen.  no where to configure
or do anything else.   doesn't ask for key. BTW it is a store bought
program.  2 blue disks and 1 white one, am I missing a disk or
something ?

Hmm. The retail version of Windows XP that I'm familiar with comes on
one CD and has an orange holographic look to it. Does yours?

Or are you saying you have the retail version of Virtual PC that comes
with Windows XP? If so, it should have an option during installation of
VirtualPC to install a pre-created disk image for you. You shouldn't
have to install Windows XP.

He has the bundled version of VPC with Windows........2 blue disks and
1 white.
It sounds like one of the disks may be bad. Best to call Microsoft
PSS. All installation issues are free

I have exactly the same problem and reported to Steve on another
session.
I do not think the problem relies on the disks but on a incomplete
installation proces on the disks.
