I have a burned cd with family pics on it that was created with a pc. I
need to transfer those images to a mac computer. I can transfer some
but not all of them. It tells me they are not readable. Do you know why
this would be? Is there a way to work around this? Any help would be
great. Thanks everyone

And you're running what version of VPC and Windows?

To be honest with you, I'm not sure. It's actually not my pc, its
someone I know and I know nothing about mac computers. She wanted to
transfer a cd full of pictures to her mac computer and was created on a
pc. when I select them to import to iphotos, it copies some of them,
but there are many that it says they are unreadable. I just dont know
why.

This newsgroup is for people who run Windows on their Macs using a program
for the Mac called Virtual PC.  It is not a good place for people who just
want to move files between a PC and a Mac.  I suggest that you go to
apple.com and select the Support tab and then one of the forums.

Can't imagine what images on your disk the Mac can't read.
I work in graphics and have never gotten a PC disk that I couldn't read
image files off of, unless the files were corrupt.

You may have burned some sort of PC slideshow program onto the CD that
generates thumbnails in some sort of proprietary PC format, but the
original hi res images should be in a folder (or folders) on the disc.
Some of the unreadable files on the CD may not be image files at all.

Do all the images end with a .jpg or one of the image file names?
