I created using carbon copy a comple "disk image" that was bootable of
my PowerBook G4 internal drive and made it bootable so in case I had a
failure on the road, I could reboot from the external firewire drive
and do a demo that uses Virtual PC.

I reboot from the external drive and Virtual PC has it's registration
number, etc. but won't let me reload the virtual pc's I had saved!

What do I do to get those either loaded or copied so I can get to them
again.

It wants to create a new virtual pc, insert a CD, then reinstall word,
etc. and so forth, yet all of these were installed with proper ids,
keys, etc.

I'm running from what should be a clone of my orginal disk!  It can
find the Virtual PC files, but they won't hightlight to open.  When I
click "open" they are highlighted, but upon selecting them nothing
happens, no logs that I can find, etc.

What good is a backup if you can't use the backup?

In order to find Windows, VPC uses the path:
Primary Mac HD/Users/Username/Documents/Virtual PC List

You need to add an alias in the Virtual POC List folder to point to
where Windows actually is. Once you've done that, VPC will work. A
quick alternative is to go to the Windows file on the external drive
and doubleclick on it.
