OSX 10.4.6,  Win 98 SE, VPC 6.1.1 Slow dial up.  I want to download
financial info through Quicken.  Difficulty setting up win 98 to "see"
mac's" connection.  Any help out there?  Jim

Having received no replies to my post (below), I set out to solve the
problem myself and after a lot of trial and error, I have had success.
Here is what the many postings and KB's don't tell you.
Yes, you must select "shared networking" in VPC settings, and upgrade
to V pC 6.1.1, but, in addition, the PC needs to "see" your ISP's DNS.
To do this, get your DNS info and enter that number by going to start,
settings, network, TCP/IP-dial up adapter, properties.  In "IP
address", select "obtain IP address automatically.  In the DNS
configuration tab, enter name in "host" and "domain" from ISP and then
enter the DNS number in "DNS server search order" also from ISP.
When I did those things, the emulated PC immediately "saw" the Mac
modem and the problem was solved.  I can only say that this works for
my dial up connection and I know nothing of other methods of
connecting.  Hope this is useful to others.  Jim
