Installing bundled XP on another PC

I bought VPC 7 bundled with XP Pro but the mac I installed it on has
given up its ghost. I'd like to install the licensed XP copy I have
on my intel imac using boot camp. Do I need some exotic extraction
process to convert the .vhd files on my VPC disks to usable XP install
disks or can I just borrow regular XP install disks from someone
and use the XP product key I got with VPC ? Will XP "phone home"
and flag the fact that this would be a second install? Are product
keys tied to the disks they came with?

Thanks for any help.

No. No. Yes.

The version of Windows that came with VPC can ONLY be used in VPC. It
states so in the EULA.

You _can_, however, buy a G5 and install VPC and XP on it.  But not on
an Intel Mac, as Paul has said.  Why not sell it on eBay?
