Sid Meier games in VPC 7

I know Alpha Centauri works with VPC 7, but does Alien Crossfire work?
I've heard two different stories, but I can't get it to work on my
iBook G4. Any ideas?

VirtualPC is not designed to run games, and definitely won't run games
that need 3D / graphics acceleration hardware.

What is the guest OS? If XP try running in Win98 compatibility mode.

I'm running the game in a Windows 98 host OS. What happens is that it
loads the game properly until it's time to go into the game itself.
Then a picture of a ship (a load screen) pops up and it freezes at that
point. It doesn't freeze the comp. It just never loads the game. I
tried downloading all of the patches. It had no effect.

Alpha Centauri works perfectly fine without the expansion, so I don't
understand why Alien Crossfire won't work (espicially when others have
reported it working with no problem on VPC).
