I had a problem with a program in VPC and the tech asked me to send him
a screenshot. Can anyone give me instructions on how to complete a
screenshot in Virtual PC 7? Thank you.

Hi,
To capture the entire screen hold down SHIFT + APPLE + 3
To capture a selected area of the screen hold down SHIFT + APPLE + 4,
then drag the cursor over the desire area to select it, then let go.
The screen shots will be saved as Picture 1, Picture 2, etc on your desktop.

It's easier to use Grab (Application > Utilities > Grab) to take a
snapshot of the contents of the VPC 7 window and email it than
triggering alt-printscreen in VPC and extracting to email it.

SCREENSHOTING FOR DUMMIES ;o)
-------------------------
MACINTOSH ("Classic" OS)
1. Whole screen - press Shift-Apple-3.
2. Part of screen - press Shift-Apple-4 and then use the '+' mouse
cursor to select the part of the screen you want.
3. One window - turn on Caps Lock, press Shift-Apple-4 and then click
on a window.
4. One window (to clipboard) - turn on Caps Lock, press Shift-Apple-4
and then hold Control and click on a window.
Screenshots are saved as "Picture 1", "Picture 2", etc. on your hard
drive.
MACINTOSH (Mac OS X)
With Mac OS X v10.2, you now have an additional option for capturing
screen shots.
1. Type Command-Shift-3 to take a screen shot of your entire screen.
2. Type Command-Shift-4 and Mac OS X will present you with crosshairs
you can use to select whatever portion of your display you'd like
to capture in a screen shot.
And here's the new option:
3. Immediately hit the spacebar after typing Command-Shift-4. Instead
of crosshairs, you'll see a little camera. Move the camera around
to highlight the Dock, the menu bar, the desktop, or any open
window. Then just click the mouse to "snap" a screen shot. In fact,
with this option, you can entirely eliminate the desktop when you
capture a screen shot of an individual window.
Screenshots are saved as "Picture 1", "Picture 2", etc. on your Dekstop.
WINDOWS PC
1. Whole screen - press Print Screen. Image is copied to clipboard.
2. Active window - press Alt-Print Screen. Image is copied to
clipboard.
Go into any application capable of using images and Paste the
screenshot into a new document.

More OS X options for snapshots at:

including some Applescript I wrote to automate the task (which I use often)

You can take a screenshot of the Windows desktop screen by clicking on
Edit, and then select "Capture PC Screen".

You can also use the "Capture PC Screen" command from Virtual PC's
"Edit" menu (Command-Option-C).

Bit belated I know, but for future reference, there's a great little widget
called "ScreenShot Plus" @
http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/business/screenshotplus.html
I've found it an invaluable way of capturing screenshots - full screen,
specific windows, selections, timed sscreen shots etc. (in VPC as well).
Clean, simple interface, not too feature-heavy. A widget I actually use -
regularly!
