Hope this does not sound stupid, but I am thinking of upgrading from 4
to Version 6 on my 400mhz G4 Titanium.  I read that the system
requirements are 500 G3 or G4.  The question is this: does this mean at
least 500 G3 or any G4, or must I have a 500mhz CPU anyway?

Also, assuming it will work on my box, what kind of performance should I
expect?

V4 has worked OK when I boot into OS9.  I use it to run some
psychological apps that doe not come in Mac versions - and the speed has
been just fine.  However, it would be nice to operate under OSX so I can
use those apps, and have access to Windows98 to run some client software
for my office's network.

Am I out of luck?

I ran VPC6 with a G3 400 Pismo just fine.  The real need is having
enough free RAM to run VPC.  I had 1GB and kept all other OSX
applications closed when running VPC.  Also, the Windows OS has a
major speed impact, Win2000 or 95 runs fastest, 98 and XP will run
slower, but still usable.

Would I just be able to get the VPC 6 standalone and copy over my
Windows 98 SE "disk"?

Maybe.

There is no upgrade path from 4 to 6.  It may be possible to get it
working under 6, but it will probably require some work.
