I am unable to make an Internet connection with AOL as my ISP and a
dialup modem.  I have connected to AOL on the Mac side then opened VPC
and used the IE browser.  I get, "Found web site, connecting", get a
progress bar which goes to about 50% and then nothing happens after
this.  I am using Shared Network and DHCP.  Any suggestions out there
would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks. Tony Ringler

In most cases, AOL dialup connections do work, but you will need to
change the MTU settings in Windows to 576.

In Windows, open a command prompt:
1. type ipconfig and ensure that you have a valid ip address (it will
start with 192.168.x.x)
2. type ping 4.2.2.2 and ensure that you have 4 replies
3. type ping www.yahoo.com to ensure that you have no DNS problems.

If all of these are OK, follow the steps in the article below:

Paul,

Thank you very much.  I did the PING test and found the highest number
without error to be 1364.  I added the MTU and everything seems to be
working fine.  In fact this e-mail is coming from VPC 7.0.2.  I really
appreciate your help and fast responce to my problem.
