virtual pc 7 does not recognize windows cd

Some months ago, I've installed virtual pc 7. I installed then my own
copy of windows xp. It worked well.  In the meantime, due to a crash, I
had to reinstall virtual pc. Apparently, it does no longer recognize
the windows cd. I've followed all the instructions, but it does not
work.

Has somebody an idea? I've tried to install it on another MAC, without
result.

At what point does it not recognize the CD? Are you getting a DOS
window with 'No OS found'? Where did the Windows CD come from? A retail
version or from a PC?
