I recently converted my FAT32 file system in Windows XP/VPC 6.1 to NTFS
because of the requirements of a particular application. The conversion was
successful, and Windows itself recognizes the conversion and seems to run ok.
However, the Virtual Disk Assistant's Disk Information window shows "Format
Type: Error Determining Format." Is this something to worry about?

The Disk Assistant does not recognize NTFS and cannot correct any
errors with it.

This behavior is expected.

Also, if you're used to making use of Desktop Drive Mounting, NTFS
volumes can only be mounted as read only, as the Mac OS does not
currently support writing to NTFS.

Is this going to cause any problems using shared folders? I am still using
OS 9.2.2.
