I have an Apple 56K Modem on my system and I'm trying to see if a
windows program that "dials out" can talk to it. Unfortunately, I don't
have any program on XP other than this program that connects to a
terminal line, unless there's something like UNIX tip or cu on XP.
Can VPC access the modem line through COM1? I've been looking for the
specs on the Apple 56K modem, but haven't found it on the net. Anyone
have a pointer to the programming document?
TIA,

Short Answer: Yes, it works.
Slightly Longer Answer: Yes, it works unless you're on a dual G5.
Longer Answer: It works. Don't let windows recognize the modem though.
You'll need to set it up manually and pick a driver from the list
provided. Again, there's an issue with the modem and dual G5 machines
at this time.

When you select the modem from the list, select a Standard 33.6 modem.
Do NOT go looking for your modem or allow Windows to search for it.
