After the last automatic update for Panther, VPC on my eMac stopped
working. I have no idea if this was the cause but it was the only factor
that prevented VPC from connecting to the internet again.

I have reinstalled VPC, and Still can not get a connection using shared
networking. I read that I should disable IPv6 under the Mac system
Networking preference and have done so. It didn't do the trick.

Could someone help me with a step for step instruction.
Yes, I have seen the microsoft page:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=825372&product=vpcmac

None of that worked either.

I don't have a solution but am curious whether Virtual Switch works.

Hey Tim I had the same problem.  It is a little confusing to set up so
I will try to explain it to you the best I can.

The first thing you do is open the Virtual PC List window

then in the Mac Menu under Virtual PC Menu select Preferences

Then select Scripting and select Show Scripts Menu  (Click the Check
box)

Hit Ok

Then select Scripts from the Mac Menu bar

Select Set Networking type  (Click OK)  If it asks you click (Change)
and then select Shared Sockets

Click ok and go back to the PC List Window and select settings and
then select Networking.

Make sure to select Shared Networking.

Then startup your Win OS.

This should fix the problem  (You should be able to connect to the
Internet)

I was told that different Win OS may have to be configured
differently, and that is why you have to make this change.

(I would have never figured this out if I did not call Support).

Good Luck and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me

John
