I have a blackjack program installed on Virtual PC for Mac--and it had
been working fine. This weekend, it stopped opening. So I want to
reinstall it. When I try to reinstall it, I get this message: "The
Windows installer service can not be accessed. This can occur if you
are running Windows in a safe mode or if the Windows installer is not
correctly installed." I tried reinstalling Virtual PC and the first
disk seems to install successfully, but then when I restart the
computer, it acts as if it wants to reinstall that same first disk
again. It doesn't ask me to insert the next disk or acknowledg that we
are moving on to the next level of the installation. What might be
going on? And any ideas on how to resolve it? Thanks.

Restore your backup of the VPC image file!
But you probably dont have a backup because the need for (and ease of)
backing up is not obvious. I wish the VPC installation program gave
users tips about backing up (maybe VPC7 does - I still use VPC6).
Here are my tips:

The lesson is, if you have VPC working well then back it up now.
