In Virtual PC 6.1 It was Possible to change Network Type to Shared
Sockets via the script menu, (as per Microsofts support website) - this
was required if web pages did not load up due to a conflict on the
internet service provider.

In VPC 7 this has been removed so I am now unable to acces certain
websites - I can access bbc.co.uk or google.co.uk etc - but unable to
view microsoft.com or Windows Update

Any Suggestions?

You still can use Shared Sockets, you need to enable the Scripts menu
in OS X, if necessary, and enable it in VPC.  Its under settings or
options.
