I recently installed VPC 7 on my g4 powerbook, along with Windows XP.
For a brief while, the desktop looked and behaved like a typical
Windows machine.  Now when I boot up the VPC I am staring at a lovely
green hillside but no menu items for Windows.  No start button at the
bottom left, no desktop icons, no desktop shortcuts...... just grass
and sky.

What can I do to fix this annoying problem?  I'm a die hard mac user,
but need VPC for a few software programs and a web building interface
that don't accomodate macintosh.

It sounds like you may have unintentionally enabled the "Auto hide taskbar"
feature.  If you hold down the Control key and hit Esc with your mouse in
the middle of the Windows screen, does your Start menu pop-up ?

Regards,
Howard
