Problems with an installer

Hi,

I try to install a Windows application I bought, but it can't be installed
because the installer dies everytime it's started. This happens in Win2K and
XP under VirtualPC 7.0.1 on a G5 Powermac (10.3.7).

From what I heard from the application newsgroup this installer runs fine on
"real" x86 hardware. So I guess it must be a problem with the x86 emulation
done by VPC.

Here's the link to the installer:
https://www.letstrade.de/download/update/MG2005/letstradeinstall.exe

I ran the installer in WinDbg (Debugger) step-by-step and  here are the last
two steps with the "Access violation" following:

Any hints about whom to contact about this problem?

Enable script items (in VPC Preferences) and then run the 'Toggle
Compatibility Mode' applescript before you run the installer.

Assuming that works, run it again when you're done. It does slow down
performance across the board, but often will allow an application to
install. My understanding from the old Connectix forums was that this
option was put in specifically to address issues with application
installers that used 'self-modifying code'.

thank you for the hint, but unfortunately it didn't work. Maybe I should try
this with my old VPC 6.0 - who knows maybe Microsoft changed something at
this point.

Hi,

just as an update - I still have the problem describe above in this thread.
Are there any offical "channels" I could use to communicate this problem to
Microsoft?
