Hello
First of all, thanks those who share their time and effort here helping
those of us who need help.

Has anyone used RDC thru an Airport connection?
My setup includes a Powerbook G4 1.25 running OS X.3.5 with Airport and
a HP rugged tablet with XP Pro using the built in wireless card. The pc
has been configured to allow remote access.
Currently the tablet uses the Airport network to access the internet.
I used the network wizard to setup a home connection and used that to
continue working on this  effort.
The mac and pc have apparently connected via computer to computer thru
the Airport network (the tablet shows a connection to the network) but
no files have been transferred and I am not sure how to ping.
When launching RDC and logging in with the computer name there is no
connection, just a spinning ball.
After several minutes, I closed the program.
My pc does not use a password, and the user name that was authorized
was entered.
Is there more configuration necessary on the pc side?
Is it necessary to establish a password to use RDC?
Can the wireless connection be used this way with RDC?

You will not be allowed to log in as an Administrator via RDC without a
password. Set a password for the account you're trying to use.

If you'd like to ping one machine from the other, either open the
Network Utility from /Applications/Utilities on the Mac or go to Start
--> Run and enter "cmd" and type "ping yourMac'sIPAddress". )The Mac's
Network Utility may actually be easier to use.)

Yes. RDC will work over wireless. I use it with my Powerbook and Windows
2003 server (same RDC technology).

Good luck! bill

Thanks Mr Smith

The info you provided allows me to ping and the connection is made vai
Airport.
After appointing the password to my account I am able to log in and use
windows on my powerbook
: )).
Is there a way to speed up the connection process?
You deserve the MVP!

Very nice words to read. :)) Thank you.

What about the connection process is slow for you? Are you referring to
the period of time between clicking the Connect button and seeing the
login window or after you enter your password and try to log in then?

It should take a few seconds but nothing extraordinarily long.
