Some time back on my Windows XP installation running inside VMware
on my Linux host, I enabled all the TrueType fonts with all the
font-smoothing stuff (he said, hand-wavingly - I forget exactly
what it was that I enabled, it seemed like there were several
things, with the net effect being much more Apple-like screen
fonts than the default).
However, when I connect with RDC, I get the plain ol' boring
screen fonts that look like the Windows XP defaults. Not
knowing how RDC works in terms of how it renders stuff on-screen,
I'm going to assume that it has its own built-in (Windows XP
default) font set, and that's why I'm seeing this behavior.
If that is, indeed, the case, then is there any way to install
or otherwise get RDC to use smoothed TrueType fonts?
Thanks,

I don't think this is possible, font smoothing is not supported in
a rdp session, for performance reasons.
