RDC Printing problems

Please don't say the problem is that the printer box must be checked on the
client RDC under options.  It is.  Likewise, please don't say the problem is
related to the client printer not being installed on the host server.  It is.
In fact, I installed the most current printer drivers from HP (Laser Jet
1300) and installed them both client and host so that I would know there was
not some unseeable issue with the drivers.

I have several users who connect using RDP.  We have their printers
installed and except for this one client, no one has a problem printing.
That makes me think the issue is somewhere on the client end but it is not in
any of the usual places.  The drivers match and the check box under, options,
local resource is checked and the connect button was hit.  NADA.  For some
reason, at this one site, the users cannot print to anything but a "Microsoft
XPS Document Writer" which is the default printer on the host server.  We
have tried making the default printer the client printer at the host and
still, the only option for a printer on the print window is "Microsoft XPS
Document Writer".  I am buffaloed.  I know how to set printers up to work
RDC, almost in my sleep, and this one site won't do.  Has anyone else ever
experienced this?

Are you using RDC 1.0.3 or the 2.0 beta, which better supports printing
for locally attached printers?

I am having similar issues.

Windows shows up my HP LaserJet 2840, but it thinks it is an Apple
LaserWriter.

Worse, it wants to default to letter - when this is an A4 printer.

Any ideas how I can make these settings, especially the A4 part,
"stick"?
