I have a Mac at home and need to VPN / RDC into my office PC. When I
come into the office the next day, my PC screen is completely blank. I
have to cold reboot the computer and restart it. I also have to go to
"Last Known Good" in order to get the login screen otherwise I never
seen the WinXP boot up screen and where the login window should be it
is just black (I hope that made sense).
I'm using an eMac with Tiger (up to the latest build), Cisco VPN client
and connecting to a Win XP Pro pc.
Any ideas?

Most likely something is wrong on the PC side. I say this because even
if RDC on the Mac were somehow responsible, the Windows system shouldn't
allow a client system to cause harm to the system itself.
Have you made sure your XP system is up-to-date with all security
patches and service packs? You can go to
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com to scan your system and download all
the latest updates.
If this doesn't fix your PC's issues then see what happens when a PC
uses RDC to connect to your XP system. Does the same thing happen?
Hope this helps! bill

I am experiencing the same problem with RDP between two XP Pro systems.
When I disconnect the client, the host freezes. RDP can still connect
but to all intents and purposes the host system is hard down.
Additionally, when I make the connection, even though I select local
printers and local disks in the options, they are not visible nor
available.
Any ideas?
