Thanks to the great posts I have been able to set the Windows machine I
am trying to reach so that it will accept my connecting to it from my
mac.  I can't seem to get through the router being used at the home
office.  How do I do that?  Shouldn't the router let me through once I
tell the windows machine to let remote user in?

I'm unable to tell where you're connecting from and where you're
connecting to (home or work?). Also, what version of Windows are you
trying to connect to? Windows 2000 or 2003 Server? Windows XP
Professional?

If you're trying to connect from your Mac at home to your PC at home
then your router won't come into play and you don't need to change
anything.

If you're trying to connect from your Mac at home to your Windows Server
at work then your System Administrator or vice versa then will need to
enable port forwarding on your router and forward port 3389.

Hope this helps! bill
