I have a user with a Macintosh in our windows 2000 enviroment. We have
a terminal server that is for the personnel to connect to using VPN.
With RDC he can connect to the terminal server from home, but he is now
getting the following message: "Terminal Service Warning, Temporary
client License will expire in 11 days". None of our windows users get
this message when they use VPN and connect to the terminal server.
My question is: Are there a special licensing requirements for Mac RDC
users to connect to a Terminal Server?
The windows users use Termianl services client to connect to the
Terminal Server.
Any help or response would be appreciated.

Do you have Terminal Server Client Licenses for the non Mac PCs to connect
to your
Terminal Server? If they are using XP-pro, I believe some versions of XP-pro
came with
a "free" Client License at one point in time. If this is the case, you may
need a Client Licenses
for the Mac.

It's rather the Windows 2000 clients that are special: they get a
free TS CAL from the pool of licenses on the TS Licensing Server.
A Macintosh client (like a unix, Windows 9x, Window NT client)
needs a purchased TS CAL.
