Bonsoir,

The doc in INSTALL-SOURCE says :

" 1. Add a login user and group for `mysqld' to run as:

         shell> groupadd mysql
         shell> useradd -g mysql mysql"

1) Do I have to create - before - a user 'mysql' - or whatever - in
the accounts of System preferences ?
And then, these commands :
          $ sudo nicl . -create /groups/mysql
          $ sudo nicl . -append /groups/mysql gid 700 (or whatever)
          $sudo nicl . -append /groups/mysql users mysql
          $ lookupd -flushcache
          $ memberd -r
2) I don't understand the relation between those commands and the
'mysqld' in "Add a login user and group for `mysqld' " : what is it
doing here ?

Thanks,

Francis.

"mysqld" is the name of the server app - it will run with the privileges
of the user "mysql".
