Hi Jim,
Well, I tried to duplicate the scenario, but when I tried the pasted
objects looked the same in Word as they did in PowerPoint. I used paste,
paste special as picture, and also via the scrapbook both ways.
If you look at the formatting (control-click > format object) do you see
the same line thickness in the dialog box using both Word and PowerPoint?
I can suggest a work-around. Control-click on the object then save it as
a picture. Then insert the picture into the Word document
(Insert>Picture>FromFile).

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the work-around.
When you examined the line thickness, did you copy and paste from
PowerPoint 2004 into Word X or Word 2003? That is when the problem
occurs. Have posted a Word file at
http:www.jamesodell.com/paste-problem.doc where the upper drawing is
from PowerPoint 2004 and the lower from PowerPoint X. From Word 2004,
both look the same; from Word X or Word 2003, the upper on looks bad.
Thanks again,
Jim

Hi,
I pasted from PPT 2004 into Word 2004.
But I see what you mean when you open the document in Word X.
Make sure that you have installed the Office updates for Word 2003. That
will like fix the trouble with Word 2003 (Windows).

Have installed all the updates to Word 2003, but the paste-problem.doc
still appears as it does under Word X--the lines are far to thick.
How does one report such "features" to Microsoft?
Thanks again.

Hi Jim,
In this case it's hard to know for sure whether it's a problem with the
Mac version or the Windows version. Because it displays OK in Office
2004 but not 2003 I lean toward the notion that this problem is with
Word for Windows.
To report bugs or to suggest new features for Word (Mac or Windows) use

Thanks Jim. The "problem" also appears in Word X and Word 98.
