Hi,
I am able to password protect individual files for Word, however I
don't know how to do it for Powerpoint or Excel. I want to make it so
to open certain files a prompt will pop-up asking for a password.

In Excel when you have the save dialog box, clik on the Option to specify
password.
In PPT Mac I don't know

Mac PPT doesn't support password-protecting files.
