Here's a dumb question with what I imagine will be a supremely simple
answer.  My Mac (running OSX) won't let me move a PowerPoint file to
the trash.  It says I don't have enough priveleges and the file icon
shows a small padlock on the lower left corner.  I can't seem to find
the magic key to make the lock go away and the Help files are useless.
Halp!!

Go to File > Get Info (or File > Show Info).  Uncheck the "Locked" button.
Also, click the "Ownership & Permissions" button and make sure it's set to
"You can: Read & Write".  Then drag it to the Trash.  Hold down the
Option/Alt key when you select "Empty Trash" from the Finder menu, and the
file should delete.
