Today we tried to run a powerpoint through a mac, it looked ok on laptop but
formatting was lost and only displayed with notes through projector.

Can anyone help

Hi there, could you describe your problem a little more?

when you say formatting is lost and displayed with notes, are you
saying that this shows on the laptop or the projector?  Are you seeing
2 different "views"; one type of view on the laptop and another on the
projector?  Or both laptop and projector are showing the same thing?
When you say formatting is lost, could you explain that more?

Thanks!
Nancy

Your presentation or notes are showing on the projector while the
slides themselves are showing on the laptop. With the projector
connected, go into system preferences, displays, and choose the
arrangement tab. Now uncheck "mirrored" and if necessary, move the
menu bar from the external monitor to the laptop screen.

If this doesn't make sense to you, then in that setup screen, click
"mirrored" and slides will show on both monitors.
