Hello,

I want my bulleted list items to appear one by one. I know how to do this with a custom animation, but what I do not like (in the least) is that all items in the list during the slide show are dark and blurred to start with, and then become in focus and with the right color font on click.

I want them NOT to show up at all before I click, and I do not seem to manage to do that. How do I do that? It was possible in 2004...

Note: I am just practicing the slide show on my Mac, and I have not connected it yet to a projector. Is this a "feature" when the slide show is presented only on the main screen?

Also, I tried replacing the bulleted list with a SmartArt graphics. I like the result very much, but it takes forever for each item to appear on click (and I have one of the latest 17" MacBook Pros). I do mean several seconds, even at the "fastest" setting. Even the whole slide (without items showing) takes a very long time to appear from the previous one.

I find this lag time embarrassing on a professional presentation. Am I doing something wrong.

Thanks,

mc61

Hi there, I have a few questions before I can help you here. If you could let me know a little more detail, then hopefully we can get to the bottom of this. :)

- What animation effect are you using right now? Are you using an entrance or emphasis effect? It sounds like you are using an emphasis effect...but you want an entrance effect (which will bring up bullet points one by one)
- are you practicing your slide show using Presenter Tools right now? If you are, then yes, when you hook up to a projector, the presenter tools view should show on your laptop and the "audience slide show view" will show from the projector. Also, when you say that the list is dark and blurred, if you are using Presenter Tools, it will tend to do that when loading the Presenter view. This will NOT show in the audience slide show view (the blurring).

- SmartArt graphics - see if you can take off some formatting on the graphics, such as blur, reflection, shadow. These take up more memory and may cause the animation to slow down.

Hope this helps...let me know!
Nancy
