I am wondering if any one could make a suggestion as to why when I highlight panels to be displayed in my formatting palette, they are not being displayed.

There are several Formatting Palette items which are context sensitive - If
you have them turned On they will appear when appropriate, but they don't
stick around if you change the focus to something else. Could this be what
you're experiencing? Which items are not being displayed?

I have the same issue with the formatting palette, except that everything was there and then most of it just vanished. I have turned on all the items I want on the back of the palette and clicked OK, but it has no effect.

Also, how do you access the old "Group/Ungroup" function for multiple items on the page, or is this no longer necessary?

Overall, this is just another example of why I regret switching to the entire 2008 Office suite. I'm a reasonably intuitive person, but it's like learning a new language, when everything worked just fine before. Who has the time?

Turns out this was a context driven issue and my mouse had clicked off the particular object I was trying to modify, nonetheless, I wouldn't call this "feature" a design improvement.
