GIF animated pictures DO NOT MOVE in PowerPoint 2008? Anyone know how to fix this problem?
duba - 15 Feb 2008 02:52 GMT
I am having the same problem
It also doesn't run any of my flash pieces either.
Eric Waldbaum [MSFT] - 18 Feb 2008 19:35 GMT
You should be able to play these pictures as a movie (Insert menu->Movie...).  The animated GIFs as pictures in a slideshow not animating is a known issue that's being investigated.

Hi,

The people in this newsgroup don't work for Microsoft (so we don't have
any inside information to share and what and when things will be fixed)
and we don't have the ability to predict the future.

About the best we can offer to you is to suggest that you report
problems to Microsoft using the Help menu and choosing to send feedback.

I tried inserting as a movie, but although I can see the file I want to insert, because it is not a movie, I can't access the file. (I'm working on PowerPoint 2008). Is there a way I can tell it to look at all files?
Eric Waldbaum [MSFT] - 25 Mar 2008 20:17 GMT
Hi Jan,
How are you inserting as a movie?  Did you try the Insert menu->Movie...
option?  Pictures like animated gifs should be able to be inserted as a
movie (like QuickTime).  Can you open in the latest version of QuickTime?
Are you admin on your computer?

Thanks,
Eric

I've converted a simple GIF animation into several different movie formats with different options. They all play fine in the slide edit view, but they all stop and stutter in presentation mode? How can you get smooth looping?
Maccle@officeformac.com - 16 May 2008 13:30 GMT
Hey there,
I also was able to insert an animated gif as a movie,
but this movie only plays once. Then it stops....
How to repeat it?!? Any idea?

Thanks and best wishes for a good weekend!
