IN windows you can link xl sheet data to a PPT slide and when you change the original sheet it reflects in the slide. Why is it that when you try the same thing in OFF2004 it inserts an embedded object that can be manipulated but in word it just links as usual? Why is that? I'm afraid I have no idea what this means. You'll need to provide more detail about how you're going about it, what you expect the result to be and what is happening instead. AFAIK the procedure works as described, but without details on what you're finding to be different it's impossible to offer an explanation, an alternative or a solution. PPt Mac does for some ludicrous reason omit the Linking option & I was confusing it with Linking through the Insert> Chart method. Is there any indication whether Microsoft will add this feature to Powerpoint in Office 2008? I've not seen anything that specific on any of the 2008 suite... You're correct, the web site is wrong. There's no Link option in the Paste Special dialog box, though the web page says there will be. Without that option, I don't know of any way to link rather than embed spreadsheets.
