Hi,
I have Office 2004, 11.3.5.

My copy of Powerpoint is evidently corrupt. Fortunately, it's not
corporeal, otherwise I'd run a meat cleaver through it, as it's caused
me no end of pain for the past 3 days while I've tried to repair
things. I keep attempting to view it with compassion, as being a sick
program that can't help itself. I'm ashamed to report that I'm not yet
successful.

My question: unfortunately, I'll have to remove and reinstall it.
However, can I remove only PowerPoint and not Word or, most
importantly, Entourage? I couldn't bear the thought of losing all of
my emails.

Thanks for the help.

First, you're pointed in the wrong direction - it's quite unlikely that PPt
itself is "corrupt" and reinstalling software is only going to make things
worse. The first source of the behavior may be that you are several updates
behind if at 11.3.5, so I'd suggest that you make sure you've applied the
11.3.6-11.3.9 updates in the appropriate order - Use Help> Check for
Updates. Also make sure OS X is fully up-to-date & run Disk Utility - Repair
Disk Permissions.

If that doesn't remedy the situation post back with *specifics* about on the
topic: "What "evidently corrupt" means to me." ( in 25 word or more). I'm
sure there is a more direct approach to get you back on track, but you need
to let us know exactly what the symptoms are.
