PPS files received from Windows don't play the embedded (third party) wav
sounds on the Mac. Standard Microsoft wav sounds play correctly though. Any
idea why?

I can see the first slide's transition includes the wav file, in  menu Slide
Show / Slide Transition.

Are you certain that the WAV is embedded?  Not all of them are.

Yes, I'm certain the WAV is embedded, because the slide show plays with
music on Windows (and there's NO chance the WAV file is on this PC).

By the way, that's not the only PPS file whose music plays on Windows but
not on Mac. I've got others in the past.
