Hi Kevin,
You can open a presentation in its own window so that PowerPoint does not
take over the entire screen.
To do this, you first need to give yourself access to the command. Here¹s
how:
From the VIEW menu choose TOOLBARS then CUSTOMIZE TOOLBARS & MENUS
Click the COMMANDS button.
With the CATEGORIES set to ALL COMMANDS in the left half, on the right half
scroll down to SLIDE SHOW IN A WINDOW.
Drag the words SLIDE SHOW IN A WINDOW to any toolbar or menu.
Click the OK button (closes the Customize window).
Once you have done these steps you¹ll have the new Slide Show in a Window
command available to you whenever you want it.
