Well, you can save yourself some money (send my commission to...):-)

Previewing on a PC will not *fix* the problem and PPt 2004 *won't* run on a
Windows box - you'd also need a copy of PPt for Windows (probably 2003).

The issue most often is caused by some combination of the following two
concerns:

A) The *type* of image files you're putting into the slides, and/or

B) The *technique* you're using to get them into the presentation file.

Graphics cross-platform is something that has to be planned ahead of time in
order to avoid this type of problem rather than trying to fix it after the
fact on the other side. IOW, once the problem is created on one platform it
can't be cured once the file goes to the other. Start with the articles

What's different about the images that don't appear?

What appears instead, if anything?

If they simply disappear and nothing appears in their place, have you applied
transparent fill to the image?  That'll cause the image to disappear on the PC.

Incidentally, if you still want to get some idea what the presentation will
look like on a PC, you don't necessarily need another computer, just a copy of
Windows, a copy of Office and a way to run both on your Mac.  Depending on the
type of Mac, that might mean Virtual PC or Parallels or Bootcamp, but you *can*
run Windows and Windows programs on your existing Mac, in all probability.  
Lots cheaper than buying a new PC.
