Problem with XP PPT text displaying in Powerpoint 2007

I support a school district where most of its teachers have been using
powerpoint for instruction for quite some time. Some of these teachers have
100s of them.  We converted this summer from Office XP to 2007.  Now I'm
finding very strange things in PPT.  Old presentations show with some slides
showing the top half of the text cut off.  It doesn't matter if you try to
edit it or create a new slide, it continues to happen.  It doesn't happen to
all presentations.  AND, if you open the presentation on a different
workstation, it may or may not happen!

How can we fix this?

You'll most likely get a faster & more appropriate response if you post to a
group that deals with PowerPoint on Windows systems. This one caters to
PowerPoint on Mac OS - hence the .mac. in the group address. For PC-related
issues involving MS Windows & Windows versions of software have a look here:

TOTALLY missed the .mac or any group address when posting.  I HAD been in an
MS forum.  Not sure how I did this.  Thanks.

Found the answer myself, though:  you have to install a local printer to fix
the problem (even though there is no local printer).  You mac guys can make
fun of this one with zeal.
