I'm assuming that your OS X update to 10.4.10 was done through Apple's
Software Update, which _seems_ to be causing conflicts with Office
installations for some users on Intel Macs.
If you go to the apple site & d/l the Combo Update for Intel, apply that,
then repair permissions you may very well find that the condition is
resolved. It may also be necessary to reapply the Office 11.3.6 update &
repair permissions again.
BTW - Was Office at 11.3.5 *before* autoupdate installed 11.3.6? AFAIK,
nobody has been able to narrow this issue down, so that may be helpful to
know.

According to some sites, if you have the Developer Preview of Java 6
installed this can cause the problem you are seeing.
