Memory issues with notes pages

I look after my companies credentials and we have just added notes to
the client case studies slides so presenters can read them while in
Presenter mode and suddenly we are having problems with files crashing/
freezing/failing to load etc.

We normally have 10 case studies per presentation which on average are
10 to 15 slides, so that means there are now 100 - 150 slides with
notes. The actual file size does not increase that much but my tame IT
guy reckons Microsoft files tend to have memory/storage limits for
different operations. Is this true and would the notes be stored like
this and have a limit?

When I strip out the notes, the file is more reliable and I've had
larger PowerPoint files without this happening, well almost. We know
how temperamental PowerPoint can be.

Thanks

I have a similar problem thats either related to file size or
something corrupted like a font or a graphic. You could try removing
individual graphics to see if one is causing the crash. My solution
was to break 5M prez into 2 parts and my problem disappeared. (I
created the problem by editing the prez in Office 2007/Windows and
cannot find the error that was introduced).

Haven't heard of this being a problem but if the file's more reliable when you
strip out the notes, that's hard to argue with.

How much notes text is there, typically?  And is it heavily formatted?  Is
there something besides text on the notes pages (graphics, charts, anything)?

Just a couple of thoughts as I haven't experienced this either:

Do any of the notes exceed the size (capacity) of the placeholder?

Was any of the note content pasted in form another source, possibly
containing something other than text?

Thanks for the response guys and to answer your questions.

The there is quite a bit of text in the notes page and either copied
from word or from another PowerPoint file.

Also it is formatted to a degree but the font suggestion is
interesting.
We have just over hauled our fonts so I'll get the IT guys to look
into this as it may just be a coincidence the problem with the notes.

I'll let you know what happens.
