When I try to save or save as I get the message:

>There are too many files open to access [filename].ppt
>Close some files before you open or save any new ones.

If I try to paste a Word object I get:

>There are too many files open to access [user:directory:filename].ppt
>Close some files before you open or save any new ones.

No other MS Office apps are running.

So I can't do anything unless I Close my one open document, but I
can't save it, so I don't dare close it.

Using PP 2004 on OSX 10.3.9

Hi,

Yours is the first I've noticed pertaining to PowerPoint.  This issue has
affected Word in the past.

Are you getting this message from embedded word documents?

Well, I had to get going, so I closed without sae and restarted. I
believe the PP document had embedded Word files. But wherther I was
getting the message from those files or from something else, I dunno.
Word was not running, and the message was in response to a Save. I
also could not save a new blank document with no text or embedded
anything.

I can't get anywhere with that link. Perhaps some characters were
stripped when you pasted it in.

after that.
