When I typed the number 4 and selected the 4,
changed it to ZD -- I got:
- a 4 in a different font (Lucida Grande)
Although I select ZD font, it spontaneously changes to Lucida grande.
I tried it in word. There was no problem the 4 changed to checkmark in
ZD. But in powerpoint it did not.
I think my fonts are Apple dfont. But at the end of font list there
are some fonts which I thougt migrated from Windows files. These fonts
are the most preferred fonts of my previous documents like Times new
Roman, Trebuchet MS, etc. They have a CE at the end of their names and
they are in the alphabetical order of apple fonts but following the
end of alfabetical list of apple fonts.
I downloaded Font Nuke but I'm afraid I could not use it in the
correct way that my problem does exist.
Thank tou very much for your help Tim.

Excuse me: The correct sentebce is:
They have a CE at the end of their names and
they are NOT in the alphabetical order of apple fonts but they follow
the
end of alfabetical list of apple fonts.

I have a feeling that if you could get Font Nuke to run, ZD might work. What
do you mean by "could not use it in the correct way that my problem does
exist?"
My last suggestion is to try Adobe Type 1 Zapf Dingbats, but it's not free
(but it's cheap).
But I still would try the Font Nuke fix.

CE stands for Central European.

Even Font nuke did not solve the problem. It is going on.
Thanks again.

In reading the above, now I wonder if something is just wrong in Microsoft
applications. What about any other applications? TextEdit? Apple Mail? Any
others that enable changes in font.
