We have installed the latest update and it does not fix the problem.
We cannot uninstall and install the original because we use Entourage
as well and this update upgraded the Entourage database. If we
reinstall, we will not be able to access our email history and that
would be worse than this problem.
Was the latest update supposed to fix this problem? I had read on this
newsgroup yesterday that a Microsoft employee was going to submit a
"bug" report. I saw evidence, after submitting my report, of multiple
people using this software that have the same problem. I would like to
know if the bug report was submitted and, if so, what is the status of
that bug fix?

Hi, Suz,
I was one of those who suffered mightily with the loss of hyperlinks. For
me, and I think for others, the fix came through with the Office upgrade to
11.3. Even so, I had to rebuild hyperlinks in some (but not all) of my
PowerPoint presentations. Now, everything works well.

Chris:
Here's what I found today. I do have version 11.3 and the links still
are missing for us when I have them in a table.
However, if I use textboxes that are not in a table; they do appear to
work now. So we will have to re-do our Powerpoint Jeopardy templates
but at least there is a way to get them to work. I still think
Microsoft has some work to do to put this back the way it was when it
worked! Is there someone from Microsoft who could comment please.
