Mac OSX - PPT 2004

How do I give PowerPoint presentations nowadays to people without the
app?
I thought a .pps file was the solution - but it seems not.

Storm,

You have to instruct the people you want to give the file to, if they don't
have powerpoint, to download one of the freely available powerpoint
'viewers'

Then they can view either a ppt or pps file
